Artist's Statement
My work is an investigation of mark-making. I am intrigued by readymade marks and color fields we encounter on a daily basis: e.g. ski tracks in the snow, the color impression of new leaves against the spring sky, or the color in the depth of water. My art-making process is a balance of a conscious control of where to place the mark or stroke while allowing the materials speak for themselves. The Chromatic Variation series exemplifies this practice while resulting in a prismatic play of color for the viewer to reflect upon.
