Late Afternoon, Weir Pond
8 x 8 inches
Nature is my subject matter, whether I am painting a landscape, still life, or floral. I prefer painting from life, but find that my best work is a combination of close observation, emotion, imagination, and a dash of visual memory. I work in the studio or en Plein Air, and take inspiration from the many parks, land preserves, and farms of the Hudson Valley and nearby Connecticut. I also enjoy incorporating the natural treasures I collect while out walking in the woods or garden into my still life paintings. My primary medium is pastel, but I also work in oils and acrylics. My paintings have been shown at the National Arts Club in NYC, the Gallery at Muscoot, Art Walk Ridgefield, Kent Art Association, the Ridgefield Guild of Art, the Putnam Arts Council, and other local venues. I am a member of the Pastel Society of America, the Ridgefield Guild of Artists, and the Lower Hudson Valley Plein Air Painters.
Artist also accepts commissions.
